biomega® heads to one of the most popular pet industry trade shows in North America this month to discuss the latest upcycled nutritional innovations, including Salmigo®, its range of salmon proteins and oils for pet vitality.

The Norwegian-headquartered company has already established its clean-label upcycling processes across Europe, with brands and retailers using its Salmigo® range in several pet food applications such as food, snacks, toppers and liquid-based mixers.

The biorefining specialist is keen to bring the advantages of upcycling underutilised salmon side streams to pet food brands in the US.

Held in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada, SuperZoo brings almost 10,000 delegates through its doors, including 1,200 exhibitors and more than 1,000 international buyers.

Hosted by the World Pet Association, the trade show takes place between 16th-18th August and covers everything from keynotes regarding how to achieve sales success on Amazon to panel discussions that aim to navigate the current challenges in the pet industry.

Dr. Silke Middendorf, CCO at biomega® commented: “We are excited to attend the pet industry’s premier event to discover the latest trends and connect with the North American retail community. As experts in upcycling rest-raw salmon materials, we are interested to hear how pet food manufacturers are reviewing their processes to deliver clean-label products for the ever-evolving consumer market.”

Nina Lerbrekk, Marketing Manager at biomega®, also in attendance said: “At biomega®, our circular process means we are making a conscious decision to lessen our environmental impact. Our biorefineries use a process called continuous enzymatic hydrolysis. This means our Salmigo® products have been designed to retain the nutrient-rich profile of salmon, while helping to aid digestibility and palatability. North America is a key area for biomega® – and SuperZoo is a prime event to meet pet food brands that want to focus on increased quality, nutrition and environmental benefits when bringing their products to market.”
