Our history
With more than 20 years of experience in upcycling rest raw salmon materials through our accelerated biorefining process, biomega® has a rich history in the aquaculture industry.
Founded in Hordaland, Norway
Our first biorefinery was built
Completion of world-first continuous enzymatic hydrolysis factory in Skaganeset
Extended biorefinery production of our Skaganeset facility
Acquired by AMERRA, Capital Management LLC
Further extended production capacity of our Skaganeset facility
Expanded customer base in key geographical markets throughout Europe, USA and Asia
Began the process to expand production capabilities into Denmark with our second biorefinery build targeted for human nutrition
Completed construction of new Denmark facility at the Port of Hirtshals
